Manual Therapy

Most of the work that I do falls under the category of Manual Therapy. Manual Therapy incorporates a variety of techniques to obtain the results the client wants; return to normal functioning. During a Manual Therapy appointment you may experience some or all of the technques in the "tool box" that I have accumulated over the years from numerous courses, and experience from working on many different individuals with various limitations.

Sports Massage

Sports Massage is a type of massage designed for highly active people who engage in athletics. Engaging in sports is harsh on the body and can often lead to injuries in both the short and long term.

Sports Massage enhances performance and prolongs a sports career by helping to prevent injury, reduce pains and swelling in the body, relax the mind, increase flexibility, and dramatically improve recovery rates. Sports Massage is also highly effective in aiding the rapid recovery of an athlete from an injury by encouraging greater kinesthetic awareness and in turn promoting the body's natural immune function.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries.

Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissues during the session.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger Point Therapy is a style of bodywork that focuses on stimulating and releasing "trigger points" in your body.

Trigger points are tender areas of tension similar to acupressure points, except they occur in the belly of the muscle rather than along the energy pathways of the body. These "knots" are built up throughout a person's life due to physical, mental, and/or emotional stress.

During a session, focused pressure is applied through a variety of techniques in order to release the trigger points. This process can be quite painful at times, yet the effects are lasting and profoundly transformative.

Oncology Massage

Oncology Massage involves modifications to traditional Swedish/relaxation massage to accommodate the effects of cancer treatments on individuals.

Overall, it is conducted in the same manner as traditional relaxation massage in regard to undressing, movements and duration. Special consideration is given to an individual's unique situation and experience with cancer and the treatments they have received or are receiving.

The modifications we may make are based on where the cancer occurred; the amount of pressure in an area relative to the cancer location is modified, and adjusting client positioning based on where the cancer occurred.

Oncology massage as a whole involves a much lighter touch in the quadrant/area where cancer occurred. The unaffected remainder of the body may receive massage at a level of pressure that you would usually prefer.

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to send me an email and I'll try to get you the answers you need.

Orthopedic Massage

Orthopedic massage is a style of massage therapy focused on treating painful conditions that affect the soft tissues of the body. Because orthopedic massage is designed to treat medical conditions, it requires extensive training. It involves releasing tense muscles, helping to stretch and lengthen tight muscles and tendons, and decompress rigid joints. My goal is to restore full health to the soft tissues of your body, both treating your specific conditions as well as improving your overall well-being.

Medical Massage

Medical Massage Differs from regular massage and bodywork in that the treatment is specifically directed to resolve conditions diagnosed by a medical lprovider. I use a variety of modalities or techniques during the treatment including trigger point therapy, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education and facilitated stretching.

I will focus only on the specific areas of the body related to the diagnosis. This is a highly effective process and my intent is to give you the best results in the shortest amount of time with the least amount of discomfort.

I am not able to accept insurance for my services.

Canine Massage

Series of 3 appointments : $150.00

I am proud to now be able to offer Canine Massage. I completed my coursework in Canine massage in Colorado in 2015 but Arizona hadn't caught up to me yet. In February 2017, they finally made it possible for Massage Therapists to offer canine massage. I am so excited to offer this incredible service for your dogs.

Knowing what I do about human anatomy, and through my canine education, dog anatomy, I can honestly say, "there isn't much difference". My conclusion then is "Dogs experience massage in much the same way we humans do".

Swedish/Relaxation Massage

Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation.

The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.

I offer Swedish massage as an adjunct to therapeutic massage treatment and not as a stand alone service. My energies are best focused on resolving muscular dysfunctions, adding Swedish as those issues resolve.
